how to participate
The competition is open to young people from schools with a musical focus, high schools of music, conservatory students, academies and private schools, conservatory graduates and private students from all over Europe.
The competition is open to the genres of classical, jazz, light and pop music.
Everyone can participate, both as soloists and in a group / ensemble and as an orchestra.
You have until June 25, 2021 to register via the Online registration form.
To register, you need a bank transfer receipt with the sum in Euros based on the section and category you belong to by consulting the complete regulation; An identity document; the disclaimer on the form page, which you will download and sign.
You will receive an email calling the competition in which your video will be screened and will be evaluated by a commission made up of music professionals.
If you don’t want to submit the video, you can also perform online.
You will be evaluated and on the basis of the award you will receive a recognized certificate of merit, which will be given to you during the online awards ceremony.

Registration forms must be sent by 25 June 2021, by filling in the registration form that you will find on our website, accompanied by all required files (disclaimer, bank transfer copy and ID card) to the attention of the association “Officina della Musica”.
For solo candidates
For solo candidates it will be possible to perform live online (on the platform we will show you) with accompaniment of the pianist, or without accompaniment of the pianist, or with the aid of base, or with the recording of an accompanying pianist, to whom they must provide autonomously or it will be possible to send a previous video audio recording (follow the directions of point A)
To take the test the solo candidate must comply with the following provisions:
The live audio/video (which can be done with your smartphone) or previous registration must have the following requirements:
With a frontal shot of the chamber placed at the height from the shoulders of the performer, and includes the student’s instrument, hands and face (profile);
For keyboard instruments the chamber must be placed on the right hand side of the performer and frame the full keyboard, hands and face (profile) of the student;
For candidates who perform in a group from the duo to the orchestra
For candidates who perform in a group from the duo to the orchestra you can send a video audio recording previously made, or a recording by performing the song, which sees the musicians connected to each other via digital connection;

The association reserves the right to publish on the Facebook page of the “Concorso Saverio Mercadante” the Youtube links of the videos sent to us;

The competition will take place on the days 28, 29, 30, June e 1, 2 ,3, 4, 5 July 2021 (subject to extensions on an on-line platform that we will show you a few days before the competition.
Article 1 – The competition is open to young people from secondary schools with a musical orientation, music schools, students of Conservatory, academies and private schools, graduates of Conservatory and private students. It is divided into sections categories.
Art. 2 – The order of call to the test will be established by the organizing body, which will inform the candidates on the day on which they will be called (under penalty of exclusion from the competition)
Art .3 – The selection boards, whose appointment is the responsibility of “Officina della Musica” Association, are composed of professors of the theater San Carlo of Naples, professional musicians and critics. It is up to the committee to shorten the duration of the execution or the opportunities to listen to it. The votes obtained by the competitors on the day of the award ceremony will be made known. The votes of the committees shall be deemed final and final. The president of “Officina della Musica” or his delegate may attend the meetings of the committee with voting rights.The members of the commission will not be able to present their students, nor have relations of kinship and affinity with competitors. The members, who have in existence educational reports or relations with one or more competitors will abstain from the vote.
Art. 4 – The association “officina della Musica” this year for the respect of the sanitary norms and sanitary sight the emergency of the COVID-19 will not deliver neither medals, neither cups and will send the certificates online via e-mail with digital signature.
Art. 5 – The Organisational Committee reserves the right to make changes to this regulation or to the timetable, in which case they shall be notified without delay to the persons concerned.
Art. 6 – The absolute winner, unique for each category, is the competitor who will report a score of not less than 100/100. First prizes of each category are the competitors who will report a score not less than 95/100, second competitors who will report a score not less than 90/100, third competitors who will report a score not less than 85/100. A description of the commissions may be awarded certificates of merit. The commissions reserve the right not to award prizes.
Art. 7 – The association does not assume responsibility for the failure or late delivery of the convocation. Interested parties should inquire by phone or e-mail.
Art. 8 – Competitors can also participate in several sections. In this case they will fill an application for each section.
Art. 9 – The association “officina della Musica” reverses the right to cancel the competition at any time for serious reasons, after notice and return of registration fees, which otherwise are in no case refundable. Entry to competitions shall entail unconditional acceptance of these rules.
Art. 10 – The court of Naples shall have jurisdiction in disputes.

All competitors who report a scaffolding not less than 100/100 will be awarded an absolute diploma award. All competitors who will report score from 95 to 99/100 will be awarded a first prize diploma. All competitors who will report a score from 90 to 94/100 will be awarded a second prize diploma. All competitors who will report a score from 85 to 89/100 will be awarded a third. prize diploma. A description of the commission may be awarded certificates of merit. The commission will not award neither medals, nor awards.
